I just checked on my Huawei U8500, Android 2.3 with Opera browser. Looks good. Automatically loads the mobile version of site.

@Tuoni - The application icon isn't compatible with Android 2.3 unfortunately, at least the way it's currently coded.

LOL 90%+ of the Android devices run on Android 2.2.x or 2.3.x so why code something that is not compatible on the biggest platform http://redheads.b1.jcink.com/uploads/redheads//post-22-1280095565.gif
Ooh well I'm upgrading to Android ICS shortly anyway smile.gif

Does it still work if you use the stock browser?

It should work fine on the stock browser. It was also tested on Windows Mobile 7 phones. It's my understanding that it will even work on Blackberry phones, the later models anyway.

I think I prefer the full version on my Playbook but after deleting history it does go to mobile site by default.

I can't get it to work with stock browser on Android 2.3 while lpmaskmancick gets it to work with Opra on Android 2.3
So i thought that the browser used/installed might have somehow influence on how the shortcuts are created.

The browser on my Android ICS tablet has the option you can enable that forces sites to load the desktop version regardless of what OS/browser is detected.
Maybe there is such a option available too on your playbook? http://redheads.b1.jcink.com/uploads/redheads//post-22-1280095565.gif

I think lpmaskmancick was talking about the mobile mode working and not the shortcut icon, at least that's how I took his post.

I probably would prefer using the desktop version as well if I had an Ipad or PlayBook since they have much larger screens than an Iphone or Android phone. On those little screens the new mobile mode really shines. Also this is just a first release. Jcink will add more features to it down the road once he's worked out all the bugs out of this release.

Glad to see it definitely works on that version. http://redheads.b1.jcink.com/uploads/redheads//post-22-1274316687.gif I have to get around to adding that code to all the other skins which shouldn't take long. It sucks that it doesn't work with Android 2.3 but it's probably better that it's working with newer versions and works on the Iphone.
