I’m not sure exactly which part you’re talking about but I assume it’s the relationship between the two lead characters.
Well for those that haven’t seen it:
They are BOTH Tyler Durden.
The main character played by Edward Norton who is also the “narrator” through the movie was insane and had split personality disorder. All throughout the movie no one refers to him by any name until “Marla Singer” calls Edward Norton “Tyler Durden.”
The whole movie when Edward Norton and Brad Pitt are interacting, the “Narrator” was talking to a man that was just in his head and didn’t really exist.
