I was going to buy one of these:

http://www.amazon.com/Syma-Remote-Control-Single-Helicopter/dp/B00F0GPVDK

But ended up getting one of these:

Also purchased the blade protector:

If you get one, you should also put a little camera on it (if it doesn't come with one). Those flight-videos from the quadcopter perspective are so cool!

The one I got doesn't come with a camera but you can buy them with the cameras. In fact I thnk they make a model that has a live video feed directly on the remote.

They look pretty awesome flying at night.

With winter around the corner I wanted something I could fly in the house. I'll probably end up getting a larger one eventually which will have more lifting capability for a decent camera.

Very cool Chazz! I was thinking of getting a quadcopter one day.

Too bad something like this is a bit over budget:

I was watching some demonstration vidoes on youtube, that thing is pretty awesome. $1160 isn't a hefty price for something like that. You're talking cinematic quality video and some pretty sophisticated technology. I can see tv stations and such buying one of those to get shots usually taken from a helicopter.

I want one large enough to hold a camera and an old router I have.

They've got a more professional copter getting pretty close to that. smile.gif

Just short of $10k. (prolly the DLSR included)

I think I'm gonna look for a quadcopter with a stationary camera and Android phone remote control capability for 200-250 euro.

This would be a good deal if you already have a gopro. It costs about $450.

Lots of really good deals at this site:

Got my quadcopter yesterday but it was missing the lipo battery. Contacted amazon and got 10 dollar refund. Went to banggood and ordered 3 batteries for 8 bucks with my paypal account.

I'm still waiting for my prop protectors(They're coming from China) but i made a few runs indoors. These things are pretty squirrely. Already have some damage to the props from running into walls. Luckily they give you an extra set of props. These are best used with prop protectors while flying indoors.

Got some action footage of your quadcopter?

Not yet. I've been putting off running it indoors til I get the prop protector and the weather outside hasn't been that nice. Also have 3 extra batteries on the way. It will defintely be much more fun running this outdoors in a large grassy field where I can let loose with it and not have to worry about running into walls or ceilings.

These are much smaller than they appear in videos. They actaully have a good bit of weight to them for their size so I can see them cutting through the wind pretty good.

http://redheads.b1.jcink.com/uploads/redheads//post-22-1274316962.gif When these first came out I wanted one in the worst way. They were like $1300 bucks. Now you can get one with a 40cc 4 stroke motor for like $250 bucks on Ebay.
